Been a few weeks again since my last posting but it will take a while to get back into the swing of things for me. I’ve been very busy as of late. When I’m not working on an overdue projects, I’m either with the kids or at a doctor’s appointment for one thing or another. This leaves very little me time but I manage to get around that.
Last Thursday, I managed to catch the pre-opening day screening of ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ and it was quite good. A little predictable here and there but still fun to watch. It was well written and showed quite a story line to show the fall of man and the rise of the apes. It will be interesting to see where they go with the next film.
I will first apologize for not posting in almost a month. I have been busy writing comic books (yeah, sounds cool every time I say it) and for the last two weeks I have been sicker than a dog. I was diagnosed with bronchitis and I’ve been hacking, snorting and all that gross stuff. I’m feeling much better now but am still very sore and tired from the ordeal.
Speaking about my health… I saw a specialist earlier this week to discuss the ongoing battle of the bulge, aka the battle with my weight. I’m down 2 lbs from my last visit but because of my current weight, weak joints and very high blood pressure… the specialist asked me to consider surgery. The want to do what’s called a ‘Gastric Sleeve’; a surgical procedure in which the stomach is reduced to about 25% of its original size, by surgical removal of a large portion of the stomach along the greater curvature. The result is a sleeve or tube like structure.
Fighting a self inflicted inflammation is a royal pain in the ass… or eye that is. My first Iritis attack in over six years has proven to be such a pain, a royal one at that, and for that reason use of the internet during that time has been very limited. I haven’t written anything in over a week, especially on this diary and I’ve been suffering from OD withdrawal. While I am not fully recovered, my light sensitivity is improving and I’m able to function in front of a monitor again.
I’m going to start my weekend on Thursday, cause that’s were the fun stuff started for me. I had a date on Thursday night. I met someone for dinner and a movie. We went out to ‘East Side Marios’ for supper and afterwards we saw the movie ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, which was actually really good. Dinner was pretty awesome too, check out the killer pasta dish I had on Thursday:
That there is a ‘Baked Spinach & Ricotta Milanese’ which pretty awesome. It didn’t look like much when I got it but trust me, this was very filling and it was all I needed that night. Combined with a caesar salad and a coke zero, it was a killer meal. I hadn’t been to ‘East Side Marios’ in a while and it was pretty good.
